Waterbottles

You need to keep hydrated and having the right equipment at the right event is crucial. Dehydration on camps are generally the number one cause of headaches. It only takes 2% of your bodys water to notice dehydration.

Funily enough the first sign is the feeling of thirst this can then be followed by but not all the following

Headache
Tiredness
Loss of Appetite
Dry Skin
Consitpation
High Temperature

To prevent this it is suggested that somewhere between 2.5 - 3 litres of water depending on your days activities and conditions.

Any activity done by Explorers should be considered an active day however achiveing the target mentioned above seems impossible? Not really alot of fluid can be taken on in food as well as water and that includes any fluid tea, squash, Juice and even fizzy drinks.

I would expect on camps or activities to see the following:

All three have there place and will suffice however most waterbottles will only hold upto 1litres the sig bottle (the red one) 2 litres and the Camelbak up to 3litres when your on a camp and know when fluid refreshments are easily accessible the smaller bottles are fine.

When you are doing activities where water supplies maybe harder to get to or limited the Camelbak should be your choice closely followed by the sig bottle.
